Serving the family is my primary focus, so every funeral ceremony is uniquely written in accordance with the wishes of the family. Normally, I will meet members of the family so that we can discuss the type of ceremony you would like. If you
would like me to, I will send you a draft copy of the ceremony wording so you can ensure that you are
completely satisfied with every detail. It's vital that the family feels the ceremony accurately
reflects the life and wishes of your loved one and your family.
Historically, most funerals in the UK have been of a 'traditional' or religious nature. In recent times, more families are finding that their personal values and beliefs can sometimes be more accurately reflected through a civil funeral ceremony. This ceremony can include some religious elements, or none whatsoever. Music, poetry and prose can also be included according to the family's wishes. Every family is different and understandably, not everyone desires the same type of funeral.
As a funeral celebrant, my role is to create and deliver a bespoke and memorable ceremony to mark the final goodbye to your loved one. A civil funeral ceremony is suitable for either burial or cremation and can be held at just about any location in accordance with the wishes of the family. I have conducted ceremonies in houses, chapels, fields, woods, barns, gardens, pubs, sports clubs and churches.
If you wish, I can also be available for the scattering of ashes and in planning and leading a memorial service.
